NYSC Policies
Recreational and Clinic registration is open April 1st – May 31st. Recreational (including Mod Rec) players registered by April 30th will receive a $10 early registration discount. Clinic does not receive an early discount. Payment is due by June 8th. If payment is not received, a player's status will be changed to late registrant.
Select registration closes on May 31st, and payment is due by May 31st.
Registration categories are divided by birth dates between August 1st and July 31st. Register for the age category that your child will be "under" at the July 31st cut off. For example, if your child will be age 10 by July 31st of this year, he/she should register for the U11 (under 11) category. If your child turns 10 after July 31st he/she should register for U10, as he/she will be under 10 by July 31st.
Play Up Policy All NYSC recreational soccer players are required to play on a team at their age appropriate level. The only exceptions that will be considered to this policy will be for the circumstances described below. A child "playing up" shall not take a spot that is needed for an age appropriate player. a) Players who wish to "play up" to play with their school peers (for example, if they have an August birthday or they are young for their grade).
b) Players who have played up the previous season within the NYSC and want to return to their same team may be grandfathered back onto that team. In this case the player must receive coach's approval to continue to "play up" on that team. NYSC will submit requests to the coaches for approval.
If you wish for your child to “play up”, please register your child for the age appropriate category and explain your request to "play up" in the “Special Request” section of the registration. Do NOT change the birth date of your child to make it fit in the age category you are wanting. If the request is granted, we will move your child’s registration category up one year. If the coach has deemed that it is in the best interest of your child and the team that your child not play up, or if there is no space for your child to play up, you will be contacted. Requests to play up must be made each year. Higher levels of play can also be found at Premier (Eastside Football Club) and Club Select.
Proof of Age The Washington State Youth Soccer Association (WSYSA) requires that all players' ages be verified before they can be placed on a team. To provide NYSC with proof of your child’s age, please mail a photocopy (no originals) of a birth certificate, passport or state ID immediately after registration. Hospital or baptismal certificates cannot be accepted. Send proof of age to Newport Youth Soccer Club; 5806 - 119th Ave SE, Suite A #252; Bellevue WA 98006.
Proof of age should be sent immediately after registration. All age verification for regular registration is due by June 8th, unless prior arrangements have been made. If not received by this date, your child's registration status will be changed to late registrant. Registration is NOT complete, and your child will NOT be placed on a team until proof of age is received. NO EXCEPTIONS! Proof of age records are kept in a file maintained by the Club Administrator and held in a secure manner. Access to these records is limited to the Club Administrator and Registrar who use them only for the verification of player's ages.

Play Down Policy No player can play down. A player that has physical or mental disabilities can petition the Club Board in writing providing the necessary medical forms and waivers. If the Club approval is attained then Association approval and State Approval must be then be attained. If a player wants to receive a special consideration for disability to play down a level than they must contact the Administrator and file the proper paperwork before the end of registration. Teams with a player playing down are ineligible to play in their own age group in state tournaments, even though that player has a waiver.
Late registration is on a space available basis only. If a team(s) needs more player(s) to fill out its roster, we will open up registration for those teams only. If/when we open late registration, we will send out a general email and post a message on the website. It is the players' responsibility to check the website if they are looking for late registration. We do not keep a late registration waiting list. Late registrants do NOT receive priority to return to the same team from previous years. They will be placed on an age appropriate team that has space available, regardless of their previous year’s placement or their special requests. A $5 late charge will be added to the registration fee. Late fees will not be refunded.
NYSC Refund Policy Refunds will only be granted in the event of a change in the status of the player. Possible reasons for granting a refund include a change in the players health, a change of address, a change in family status, or similar consideration. Refunds granted prior to May 31st will provide a full refund with the exception of a $10 fee to cover NYSC player processing costs. Refunds granted after June 1st and prior to August 15th will provide a full refund with the exception of a $25 fee to cover NYSC, EYSA, and WSYSA player processing costs. After August 15th no refunds will be granted except with Board approval. If granted, a refund after August 15th will be no more than 50% of the registration fee. No refunds will be given after September 30th. Late fees will not be refunded.
